We are a small rural primary school running from Y1–8 with a proud Māori culture and heritage, and a whānau (family) atmosphere. We are situated near world class beaches and native bush with natural resources on our doorstep. We offer 2 mixed-age learning pathways, a mainstream Pakiri Pathway and a Montessori Pathway under the school’s whakatuakī (motto), Kotahi te Hīkoi Whakamua (Forward Together).
Our school is experiencing an exciting period of growth and offers a unique learning environment not available anywhere else in the Rodney Region.
We are seeking a Montessori trained (6–12) and fully registered New Zealand teacher to lead our Montessori Pathway. Montessori qualifications are preferred, but should you have a willing ‘Montessori heart’ and be prepared to commit to Montessori training, then we would also like to hear from you.
To be successful in the role you will:
Have high emotional intelligence: be adaptive, self-aware, empathetic, balanced, curious, gracious
Be highly collaborative
Be able to build positive relationships with our principal, Board of Trustees, staff, ākonga (students), whānau, and the wider community
Be organised and self-driven
Be committed to nurturing the growth, development and independence of our ākonga.
You will be part of a team that is passionate about growing a dual pathway school with plenty of professional development opportunities and a supportive environment.
