Our school, founded in 1863 is one of NZ’s oldest boys’ secondary schools. With a proud heritage and strong traditions, balanced with modern learning opportunities, it offers a first-class education for boarders and day boys and takes its role in developing “great men” seriously. Sited on the hills overlooking Dunedin, its ethos of ‘Best for Boys Through the Right Learning’ underpins all that they do. With a positive and engaging school culture, they celebrate tall poppies and push the middle boy. They are large enough to offer a wide and deep curriculum and small enough to know every boy.
“School House”, the boarding hostel, offers boys from NZ and overseas the opportunity to live and learn together in a safe, structured ‘home away from home’ environment and to thrive in the Hostel brotherhood.
