We are an innovative and forward-thinking, decile 8 coeducational Y7–13 school located in Leeston, approximately 30 minutes south of Christchurch. With a school redevelopment in progress, this is an exciting time to join a progressive school and be a part of leading and designing change in New Zealand education.

We are seeking an innovative teacher of agribusiness / business studies (please state other supporting subjects) with a flexible growth mindset who is passionate about student success, and wants to be part of our dynamic and collaborative team from the beginning of the 2021 academic year. A commitment to providing rich authentic learning contexts in an integrated way across curriculum areas is essential, as is the ability to develop and create flexible and responsive assessment practices for students. The capability to teach business studies to NCEA Level 3 is a pre-requisite while knowledge and ability to teach the Financial Capability unit standards would be an advantage.

Over the coming years we are developing a pedagogical approach which will provide contextualised and coherent opportunities for deep, culturally sustaining learning whilst providing learners choice and agency to develop skills, knowledge and qualifications. We believe in the concept of ako and that we are all learners. Collaborative practice is fundamental to our curriculum and as educators we know we can always learn from all other stakeholders.

We are a restorative practices school and believe strongly in building and enhancing positive professional relationships with young people. All teachers are expected to be involved in our hapori/learning advisory system and will be supported to awhi students and their learning within a 'culture of care'.

Our school is community-focused and we encourage all staff to contribute to the varied learning opportunities that are offered to students in such an environment.
