Te reo Māori
IA and HPTSA + possible MITA
E rapa ana mātou he pouako e matatau ana ki te reo me ona nei tikanga, mai nga piipii, ki NCEA L3. Me mohio marika te kaitono, te whakahaere tari Māori a, me te kapahaka hoki.
We are excited at the opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and caring teacher with great interpersonal and teaching skills to teach te reo Māori, Tikanga Māori and Toi Whakaari (Māori performing arts) across the school. The successful applicant must be passionate about children, lifting their learning achievement and enhancing their well-being. Applicants should teach te reo Māori to NCEA Level 2 and be able to support Level 3 students learning through NetNZ distance learning.
We are a well-resourced Y1–13 area school in a rural service town situated in the beautiful East Coast, north from Gisborne. The college is a long established school located in the heart of Ngati Porou, Ruatoria. All the students affiliate to the iwi which provides strong contexts for learning. Our school has a supportive family-like atmosphere. We have small class sizes and willing students.
School housing is available at a subsidised rate.
Our coast is famous for its relatively easy access to the surrounding ocean with many coastal bays providing a haven for marine life, fishing, diving and other water based activities. Our many rivers and remote areas provide many other recreational opportunities including tramping and hunting.
Our teachers receive both the Isolation and the High Priority Teacher Supply Allowances. There is also the possibility of a MITA allowance. An additional management unit is available for a candidate able to lead kapa haka across the school.
