Decile 3 school with a current roll of 220 students. It is a contributing rural school in the heart of Matamata providing for Y1–6 students. Our school culture along with the supportive community are just two of the many aspects that make our school special and unique.

Due to the retirement of our current deputy principal we seek to appoint an inspirational, aspiring leader who has students at the heart of their practice.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an in-depth understanding of effective teaching and learning
  • Will be culturally responsive
  • Lead collaboration and innovative thinking
  • Use their initiative to support and drive the strategic direction of our school.

Other attributes include current leadership experience, strength in inclusive practice, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Strengths in te reo Māori, SENCO, knowledge and understanding of the Readiness for Learning Framework and Play Based Learning, would be advantageous.

The successful applicant will have a teaching component.

The position commences at the beginning of term 1 2021 (January 28).
