This is a LTR position for the 2021 teaching year due to a staff member being on leave.
Our school provides a quality education in a caring environment. The curriculum is delivered through a subject teaching model. All teachers have a whānau class who they see each day and each teacher is a specialist teacher in their own subject area. There is an expectation that all teachers will be experts in their curriculum area and deliver a programme that is relevant, culturally responsive and differentiates for all students. Our school is multicultural and has reo rua classrooms.
The daily use of te reo Māori and tikanga practises is encouraged and you will be supported to ensure this happens in all teaching.
We are looking for a food technology teacher who is keen to deliver a programme that meets the needs of our community with a strong emphasis on cooking food that is nutritious, affordable and can be replicated in the homes of our tamariki. Strong integration of numeracy and literacy is also an expectation in all subject teaching at BIS.
You may not have taught this subject before but may be a strong teacher with a passion for food and nutrition. Your skills as a quality teacher are more important than previous experience as a food technology teacher.
To find out more or to apply for this position please contact the principal or visit the school. We would like to find a person who is the right fit for our school and we want to be the right school for you too.
