ORS specialist classroom teacher

A highly organised and capable teacher with excellent communication skills is required to join our learning support department. The successful candidate would teach 2 classes of the adapted learning programme in learning support and work across faculties to initiate professional learning. 

This role is fixed-term (0.7) commencing 29 January 2021 due to being funded by the continued enrolment of ORS funded students.

Please include additional teaching areas for potential to make a full-time position.

We require a person who has:

• Primary or secondary teaching experience
• With an interest/passion for special education
• Developing appropriate and inclusive learning programmes and experiences for ORS funded students
• Supporting teacher aides and classroom teachers working alongside ORS students
• Liaising with whānau and the MOE on the progress of these students
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Passion for supporting students with learning and behaviour needs
• Sound administration skills.
