The child – the heart of the matter.

New purpose-built childcare centre in Mt Eden area. Expected to be licensed for 110 children. This role is for a centre manager. 

You will find this role is attractive and no way near a normal centre manager role.

The culture of the centre is friendly, supportive, respects individuals as well as collaboration. You will be dealing the owner and board members are well equipped with knowledge of ECE sector with respect and understanding of teachers. 

The centre manager role is who can take on the challenge of developing a new team, understand the MoE regulations well, who will be leading with inspiration and knowledge. Being empathic, respectful and collaborative with team members. 

Strong business sense is crucial for this role, who can identify the local families and whānau needs and requirements, and form strategies with the owner and board members. 

The centre manager is crucial in daily operation, and will be:

  • Currently registered as an ECE teacher
  • Have rich experience of managing a similar size childcare centre(s)
  • Confident to manage a diverse team
  • Have a good understanding of Āhuatanga (Māori values, tikanga).
  • Strong business sense and knowledge
  • Budgeting and projection on revenue. 

Important – you must be an excellent communicator; willing to listen and make changes.

Great understanding of updated Te Whāriki (2017) and sound understanding of qualitative and quantitive methodologies of assessment and evaluation through various inquiries.

The role is starting in January 2021.
