Our centre is located in the picturesque grounds of the Eastern Institute of Technology, Gloucester Street, Taradale and is licenced to cater for a maximum of 61 children.
As manager you will provide professional and pedagogical leadership of the centre, work in partnership with whānau and community, and deliver outstanding education and care to the children enrolled.
Key tasks include ensuring the provision of a planned curriculum that will enhance children’s learning and development, recruiting and employing staff as needed, leading the development and implementation of the centre’s strategic vision through to setting and monitoring annual budgets, in consultation with the EIT Finance team and ensuring that all statutory and regulatory requirements and obligations are met.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A sound working knowledge of Te Whāriki, New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum
- Current knowledge of learning and teaching practice and trends in ECE, and apply technologies to support learning
- Proven success in ECE teaching practice with relevant management experience an advantage
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti of Waitangi and how the principles influence early childhood teaching practice.
It is essential that candidates have a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) or a Graduate Diploma of Teaching (ECE) or similar and are a fully certified teacher (Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand).
