Seeking an enthusiastic and creative secondary hauora teacher to work full-time in our busy school. We are diversifying our curriculum by offering integrated programmes of learning or ‘labs’ where students are guided by teaching professionals. The hauora lab is intended to include learning from curriculum areas such as physical education, food and nutrition, and health, but can be further adapted to student interest and need. The successful applicant would be expected to co-develop and run the course across a variety of age groups and ability levels. As a staff, we value adaptability, contribution, growth-thinking and teamwork. If you believe you have the necessary skills and attributes, please register your interest!

The school supports our learners 'To be the best you can be'.

Set on the scenic Catlins coast of New Zealand, the school offers small classes and individualised learning in a safe, caring environment. Our school benefits from a dedicated and well-qualified staff who use a range of teaching and learning techniques to support all learners. We are a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) and NPDL (New Pedagogies for Deeper Learning) School, commitment to these programmes is a necessity.

Located just 25km from Balclutha we benefit from both rural and town opportunities. We value our fantastic facilities and utilise them to provide tailored learning for students across the Y1–13 age and ability range. We are proud of our area school status and the opportunities this provides for peer leadership and continuity across school-age learning. Visits to the school are welcomed as part of the application process.

Inside and outside of the classroom, on the stage and on sports fields our learners are encouraged to develop wide scope skills and life experiences. We promote a positive attitude towards lifelong learning, community support and involvement.
