Through promotion to principalship and expansion, we seek two future-focused leaders to join our team. Applicants will need to have an indepth knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum as well as of current research into best practice for teaching, learning and assessment leading to success for all learners.
Both roles relate to teaching and learning. One has a curriculum design focus and involves leading staff to frame up curriculum that reflects the learning opportunities afforded by the flexible spaces of our new school. We aim to provide learning that gives learners choice and agency while enabling growth in skills and discipline-specific knowledge. The strategic focus of this DP role is to provide leadership in the design of learning that supports student engagement and achievement in line with our vision for learning.
The second role is focused on instructional leadership, leading teachers and students to ensure progress and achievement for all learners. This DP will be a key member of the data team and develop staff capability to use data to plan learning that supports student progress and to monitor effectiveness. Responsibility for schoolwide reporting and assessment fits within this portfolio.
All members of the SLT have pastoral oversight, and other leadership and administrative responsibilities. These are flexibly shared and altered within the team through annual review and discussion and allocated to achieve a fair workload across the team to suit team members’ strengths and interests.
