About our team

We have a small but dynamic team who are passionate about Pacific learners and communities. Working with the Office of Pasifika you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to projects and programmes that enable Pacific learners to qualify for the future world.

Situated within the Office of the Deputy Chief Executive Māori (ODCEM), the Office of Pasifika is responsible for:

  • Giving effect to NZQA's commitment to Pacific learners succeeding in education through the effective implementation of the Takiala Pasifika 2020- 2023
  • Contributing to and/or managing projects of significance, aligned to NZQA's strategic goals of equity and lifelong learning
  • Strengthening the cultural capability of NZQA staff to contribute effectively to the goals and objectives of the Takiala Pasifika 2020 – 2023

About this role

We are seeking someone who is passionate, energetic, confident and able to connect with diverse Pacific learners and communities. You will have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with various Pacific stakeholders and education sector colleagues. You will have strong communication skills and be tech and social media savvy. A champion for Pacific worldviews, you will be focused on ensuring Pacific learners receive equitable opportunities and outcomes.

The Programme Support Advisor Pasifika role provides junior policy, communications and administrative support in the development, implementation and review of projects designed to progress outcomes of the NZQA Pasifika Strategic Action Plan – Takiala Pasifika. This role may suit a recent graduate and/or someone with relevant experience working with Pacific learners, families and communities.

NZQA is a Te Reo Māori learning organisation.
