Seeking an experienced maths specialist teacher Y9–13 to join our newly established, designated character, total immersion kura for an immediate start.

We started as a L2 bilingual partnership kura in 2014 and have experienced growth and exceptional academic achievement since.

The designated character of our school reflects a kura committed to te reo me ōna tikanga o Ngāpuhi-nui-tonu with adherence to te Tiriti O Waitangi and the rights accorded us, with particular reference to Article 3 which grants us the rights of citizenship which were affirmed by the men of the 28 Māori Battalion who paid the ultimate price of citizenship.

Y9–10 is a generic integrated programme across all core curriculum areas.

Y11–13 focuses on a choice of subjects in our 2 faculties:

Social science plus:

  • Critical thinkers
  • Entrepreneurs.

Science plus:

  • Pure sciences
  • Sports science
  • STEM.

It also includes compulsory core subjects English, maths and Māori. Kia Māori forms the foundation of the curriculum across the whole kura and includes kapa haka, Mau rakau, Māori performing arts and our own waka programme.

We are seeking dynamic pouako, teachers, who provide experience working in an innovative curriculum and a 21st century learning environment.  You will have at least one strength but the ability to teach across a couple of subjects at the junior level and NCEA and have:

  • Commitment to te reo me ōna tikanga
  • Demonstrated commitment to our designated character
  • Distributed leadership
  • A robust pastoral care system within a Māori framework
  • Commitment to student-centred, evidence-based decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative educational strategies to Māori learners.

We are charting a new educational direction in pursuit of collective excellence and high personal achievement. Our mission is to unlock the potential of our tamariki while honouring the deeds of our tupuna.
