  • Newly established Education Evaluation Centre | Te Ihuwaka
  • Two critical roles on our leadership team

About us

The Education Evaluation Centre | Te Ihuwaka has been created, building off our previous work in evaluation and policy, to reflect our increased role in education system evaluation - meaning now is an exciting time to be working for us.

We're uniquely positioned to provide independent advice on the performance and quality of education and how to improve practice.  We have specialised evaluation expertise, and a deep connection to services, so we can provide relevant insights and be a catalyst for change.

About the opportunities

Reporting into the head of the centre, our deputy chief executive evaluation and policy, our senior managers are a critical part of our leadership team, involved in setting the strategic direction and work programme for the centre.

You will manage a team of evaluators and analysts, to deliver a wide programme of evaluations, insights, briefings for Ministers and publications.  You'll work with key stakeholders to ensure the team delivers high quality work on time and it is tailored to have impact with a range of audiences.

We value our positive team culture – you'll be key to fostering this, and maximising the capability of your team, providing them with opportunities to develop.

About you

  • Previous experience in evaluation, policy analysis and/or research at a senior level
  • A track record of developing and managing a high performing team
  • Great stakeholder relationship skills
  • A strategic focus, adaptability and a drive to deliver results
  • A commitment to integrate a te ao Māori world view in the creation of knowledge.

This is your chance to help shape our role in this space, contribute to building the evidence base for education, and to see your work have a real impact
