  • Newly established Education Evaluation Centre | Te Ihuwaka
  • See your work have real impact
  • Exciting and varied work programme

About us

The Education Review Office (ERO) works for the benefit of New Zealand's young children and students.

The Education Evaluation Centre | Te Ihuwaka has created, building off our previous work in evaluation and policy, to reflect our increased role in education system evaluation - meaning now is an exciting time to be working for us in the evaluation space.

We're uniquely positioned to provide independent advice on the performance and quality of education and how to improve practice.  We have specialised evaluation expertise, and a deep connection to schools and services, so we can provide relevant insights and be a catalyst for change on the ground.

We can offer you exciting and varied work – you might be looking at the overall performance of the education system; doing a deep dive into provision for key groups; linking to international reviews; or working on a thematic review of aspects of the system.  We have a team culture that is collaborative, supportive and professional.

About you

Our principal and senior evaluators are a critical part of our evaluation team – they provide technical expertise, plan and lead our evaluation projects, and work with a range of stakeholders.

We are keen to hear from you if you bring strong evaluation or research expertise, experience planning and leading evaluation projects, and a desire to see your work have a real impact.

This is your chance to help shape our role in this space, contribute to building the evidence base for education, and to see your work have a real impact on education outcomes.
