Our college is a coeducational, state secondary school in Pakuranga, Auckland, offering a future-focused, strength-based curriculum from Y9–13. We serve a diverse urban community with students from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

We are looking for a visionary and collaborative teacher to lead integrated support across our school community. Our school values of māia / courage, manaakitanga / care and manawa reka / curiosity underpin our teaching and learning, and your ability to teach and lead based on these values as well as culturally sustaining and restorative practices is an expectation.

This is a new middle leadership role that incorporates wider SENCO responsibilities with teaching within our ‘Integrated Support’ Y9 class. We are seeking a dedicated education professional with a reputation for engaging, inspiring, challenging and empowering students with additional learning needs. Our ideal candidate would be able to teach across junior subject areas – please state your curriculum teaching areas in your application, as well any senior subject strengths.

Experience with working and teaching in special education to a diverse range of abilities and age groups is essential. The successful applicant will be a caring person with the skills and capabilities to build strong, productive relationships with students, staff, and whānau. We are a 1-1 device school so the ability to lead meaningful e-learning across the integrated support learning area is also essential.

We offer excellent opportunities for personal and professional development and a caring and inclusive teaching and learning environment. As a community we are always looking towards ongoing improvement, so a positive attitude to learning and change is essential.

The position will commence for the 2021 school year.
