Our college is currently looking for an excellent teacher with a psychology qualification in Epsom, Auckland. 

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced teacher/psychologist of diverse learners to work in our Pohutukawa Centre (PLC) within St Cuthbert’s College. This successful centre focuses on a wide range of learning needs and behavioural patterns in children from Y1–8.

 About this role: 

  • As a fully qualified teacher with a qualification in psychology, you will play a critical role in our learning support team by:
  • Identifying patterns or contributing factors that may be influencing learning, wellbeing and behaviour
  • Enhancing inclusive practices in early learning and other school settings within the school
  • Providing professional support and guidance to teachers and families and building relationships and the capacity of those who are in the best place to support the learning of diverse students
  • Providing appropriate in-depth specialist assessment and analysis for evidenced, informed interventions
  • Working as part of a dynamic team to support and teach over diverse students to progress their knowledge. 

About you. 

To be successful, you will need the following:

  • Understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum
  • Ability/skills to work and understand the students with diverse learning needs
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, students and parents
  • Critical eye for the analysis of data
  • The ability to multi-task effectively
  • Understanding the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
