We are seeking an outstanding leader who will provide strong direction for the Catholic Special Character and the learning environment of our college. Our principal will nurture the college’s faith community, and inspire the development of confident young women who thrive as life-long learners.
We are one of the oldest existing schools in New Zealand, opened and blessed by Bishop Viard in 1850. Situated in the heart of Thorndon, the school has been educating girls successfully ever since.
As the leader of our college, the principal will continually strive for excellence in education. The principal will give practical recognition to the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, will embrace all cultures and celebrate diverse backgrounds.

Be a visionary and inspirational leader, demonstrating a thorough understanding of current approaches to effective teaching and learning
Have a proven ability to provide strong professional leadership for staff
Be a strong communicator who builds high trust relationships
Advocate for the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to be embedded in our school practices and culture
Have strength in financial and property management, and understanding of digital structures
Motivate students to take responsibility for their own learning, and to take pride in the college
Be passionate about all students achieving to the best of their ability.
A willingness and ability to participate in the religious instruction appropriate to the Special Character of the school, is a condition of appointment.
