We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate certificated teacher/kaiako join our team.

This is a fixed-term position, covering a permanent Kaiako who will be on parental leave.

About us:

We are part of Central Kids Early Education, which operates 56 other kindergartens and centres across the central North Island.

Central Kids provide access to high-quality professional development opportunities and ongoing professional support to maintain quality teaching practice.

We are party to the Kindergarten Teachers' Collective Agreement, which provides 6 weeks' annual leave, 9 days' sick leave and ample non-contact/professional time.

Central Kids Reporoa is situated in a rural setting south of Rotorua. The kindergarten has a team of four amazing teachers, a very valuable administrator and one wonderful resource person.

We offer our tamariki and their whānau: Mana tangata – sense of belonging; respectful, reciprocal relationships; extensive and meaningful learning opportunities for tamariki; a well-resourced kindergarten and a child initiated programme.

We foster the dual cultural heritage of Aotearoa. Significant features of the kindergarten include whakamana (enjoyment of learning and self management), kotahitanga (affirming behaviour learning), ngā hononga (participating together) and whakawhanaungatanga (positive links to hapu, whānau, parents and the local wider community).

We are looking for a teacher with the following attributes:

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, able to put current theory into practice
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
