About us

We are a decile 10 school situated on the hills overlooking Wellington city. Our school has close links with its community and we are proud of the school, its children and their achievements. Our students reach high standards in many areas; curriculum, on the sports field and in other endeavours. Our school values reflect who we are: a community of kind, curious, creative, confident and active learners.

Our teaching staff work in teaching teams with parallel composite classes at most levels. Teaching teams plan together, share student achievement and assessment data and support one another to provide the best possible outcomes for their students and each other.

Our school is part of Te Kāhui Ako o Te Whanganui-a-Tara comprising 4 primary schools and 2 colleges from the local area.

About the role

Our fantastic principal is retiring after 18 years and we are looking for someone equally fantastic to continue providing positive outcomes for our students.

After consulting with our community, staff and board of trustees we are looking for a new principal who is:

  • Dedicated to the best possible outcomes for our students, staff and school
  • Good with the management and financials of running a school
  • Has the ability to delegate where appropriate and build confidence, skills and experience across the team
  • Has a 'can-do' attitude, that reflects and values teamwork
  • Shows commitment to and trust in the people who work for and with them
