We are a boarding and day school for approximately 300 girls in Havelock North, in beautiful Hawke’s Bay. It is a place where girls can be entirely comfortable; where they feel happy and safe in a warm, family-oriented environment.

Consistently one of the top achieving schools nationally, we have a vision for education which builds on tradition to equip students with the confidence and skills needed for a challenging and changing future. Our goal of Empowering Girls for Life represents an inspirational position and aspirational outlook, where girls are encouraged to seize opportunities and unleash their potential not only during their time here but well beyond.

We seek a well-qualified, enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic deputy principal with strong interpersonal skills, to lead pastoral care in the college and facilitate and support a culture of staff and student wellbeing, engagement and enhancement.

As an effective teacher and experienced leader, you will be culturally responsive, build positive professional relationships, and work collaboratively. With research-based pastoral and academic pedagogical knowledge you will empower and support others to provide the best educational opportunities and care for our students. You will have highly effective administrative and organisational capability and be confident with strategies for engagement and learning enhancement.

The successful candidate will have strength in strategic leadership and be willing to lead initiatives which support growth and development, foster engagement, inspire and enhance learning and raise academic achievement for all students.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a forward thinking, high functioning Senior Leadership Team and to make a difference in our learning community.

We will negotiate aspects of the senior leadership roles and responsibilities based on the team strengths and experience and the strategic direction of the college.
