We are a 2-teacher rural school on the outskirts of Auckland, set on the edge of the idyllic Woodhill Forest. Our students enjoy the busy environment of our family-based country school where learning takes place in the classroom and during our frequent outdoor education trips. The children have a strong sense of cultural identity and we are well supported by whānau and the local marae.
In order to best meet the needs of our students at this time, we have a fixed-term vacancy for term 3–4. This would form a third classroom. The position would best suit an experienced teacher with proven success in junior school education. Confidence in meeting diverse needs, te reo Māori, digital technologies, Environmental education and the arts are also desirable.
The position will be in a Y2–3 class for the remainder of 2020, with an initial class size of 15 students.
Our school is very well-resourced with additional classrooms in a multi-storey block, teaching equipment and a hall.
If you have modern teaching pedagogy and enjoy working in a small, dynamic and well supported environment, we encourage you to visit our school to discuss this vacancy.
