We are opening another centre, and need the support of a manager for our current centre.

We are a purpose-built, 12 year old, spacious, farmlet style centre in Cambridge. Our centre culture of aroha makes this a close-knit whānau unit for our 23 full and part time teachers. This in turn ensures our tamariki and their whānau thrive within our environment.

We have a huge outdoor area, and a focus on animals and the natural environment. We enjoy a generous PLD allowance and excellent ratios. We employ only qualified kaiako or kaiako-in-training, and every teacher is first aid qualified, ensuring that the highest quality is maintained for tamariki at all times.

You will be mentored and fully trained by the owner and current manager, but will require proven leadership and/or previous experience managing. Only NZ qualified and registered ECE teachers should apply. We believe that the best applicant is the best person, skills can be taught, we are looking for someone we know we will care about, and who will care about our kaiako – who are the manager’s priority learners.

Conditions, salary, start date and hours of work (30–40 hours) will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Alignment with our centre philosophy (copy on website)
  • A positive, energetic and empathetic nature
  • A desire to work within an authentic distributed leadership model
  • An aptitude for creating and working within systems and processes
  • The courage to try new things and the resilience to make mistakes and grow
  • A commitment to collaborative practices with all internal and external stakeholders
  • A sound knowledge of ECE regulations
  • An understanding of employment law and sound Human Resource practices
  • The ability to drive robust continuous quality improvement processes.
