We are looking for an inspiring, nurturing, respectful, positive educator who is an advocate for children.
Wondernauts is a spacious and well-resourced not-for-profit centre located in the lush Ruakura grounds. We have a huge outdoor environment with real grass, an orchard, raised vegetable gardens, mud pits, a campfire, animals and an impressive, purpose-built bike track. Three cosy classrooms collectively support 50 children. We are mindful of group size and ratios that best serve tamariki.
Our beautiful centre boasts a progressive, all-weather curriculum focused on reconnecting children with nature and their local community. We pride ourselves on providing tamariki with experiences outside the classroom and run several weekly 'bush kindergartens', as well as an intergenerational programme with our local retirement village.
We are looking for an energetic, motivated teacher who loves supporting our tamarki. You will need to be positive, well-organised, have an appreciation for Papatuanuku and ideally confidence with technology. You will have sounds theoretical and pedagogical knowledge to drive learning stories, reviews and programme planning. You will be adaptable and open-minded working in a dynamic space. We are hoping for a motivated educator who follows best practice and implements respectful, child-focused approaches for the very little people who we serve. We have an amazing stable staff team and have received a fantastic 'very well placed' ERO review.
Ideally, you will be ECE qualified and certificated. You must have NZ residency or a valid work visa. Ideally, you have a full drivers licence and be willing to drive our centre van for excursions.
We are looking for someone a minimum of 9am–3.30pm each day, but there is a possibility for either a full-time position, or a mix of 6 and 8 hour days.
