Located in the South Taranaki District, Hawera is ‘alive with opportunity’.
Hawera has a population of approx 12,500 and is situated at the intersection of SH3 and SH45 some 75km south of New Plymouth and it is the second largest town in the wider Taranaki region.
Hawera has all the amenities of a large city but is without big-city hassles.
Facilities and attractions include: affordable housing; a stable workforce and range of primary and service industries; the popular TSB sports hub and aquatic centre; numerous sports, recreation and cultural clubs; great shops and restaurants; the coast for boating, fishing, surfing and swimming; and the majestic Mt Taranaki for tramping and skiing.
Our school is a decile 5, financially sound, intermediate Y7–8 school staffed for approximately 325 students.
We seek an innovative pedagogical leader who is inclusive, collaborative, culturally responsive and who puts student achievement and well-being at the heart of their practice.
Following a period of improvement and change, we are now ready to build upon that progress to take the school forward.
