Who are we?
HCK have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun.
We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 19, soon to be 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley.
About our kindergarten:
We offer a warm, friendly and relaxed environment for children/ tamariki and families/whānau in Wainuiomata. The kindergarten is on a large, flat site, right next to Pukeatua School. A key strength of our kindergarten is the variety of activities that recognise the multicultural/ bicultural nature of our families/ whānau, who come from a rich diversity of backgrounds. We strive to ensure that each child’s identity is acknowledged and embraced and that they know kindergarten is 'their place'. We value and uphold the values of Tiriti o Waitangi and partnership, protection and participation underpins everything that happens within our kindergarten.
The position:
Due to promotion, we are looking for an energetic and dedicated teacher to join the team, tamariki and whānau.
Ideally, the successful candidate will commence at the start of term 3 (20 July) – however there is flexibility for the successful candidate.

- Minimum of Dip Tch (ECE)
- Full certification
- Current first aid certificate.
We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks’ annual leave and paid professional time during term breaks.
