We are a special school for young persons aged 5–21 years. As part of our school we run the Specialist Teacher Outreach Service.
This service currently has 12 teachers who visit and support students who have ORs funding in mainstream schools in the greater Wellington/Hutt Valley region.
We have a position for a Scale A teacher 0.9 (4½ days) fixed-term, part-time teacher to work in this Outreach Team. Our service is expanding and there is potential for this position to increase during the year as our roll grows. There is also the possibility that this fixed-term will be extended into the 2021 school year.
If you are a great team player committed to working collaboratively with schools, teachers and students then we would love to have you working alongside us to provide a vibrant learning environment for special needs students.
Experience in working with special needs and nonverbal children is desirable however even more importantly, we are looking for an enthusiastic innovative teacher with a 'can-do' attitude.
There is travel involved and a mileage allowance is paid.
