Ko Taku Reo will come into being in July 2020. It will provide deaf education and support services across the whole of New Zealand. This new organisation will incorporate Kelston (Auckland) and van Asch (Christchurch) Deaf Education Centres. You will be joining a close-knit team and you will share their passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality education and services to the deaf community and whānau.

We provide professional development and career pathways for specialist teachers within the Deaf Education Sector.

We currently have fixed-term positions available in the Christchurch provision. Preference will be given to qualified teachers of the deaf able to work with a range of deaf and hard of hearing students across all communication modes and varying learning contexts.

However, applications will be considered from teachers with strong communication skills or school curriculum knowledge, prepared to undertake professional development.  Recent teaching experience and proficiency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) or a willingness to learn NZSL is essential. We are looking for team players that can influence and embrace ongoing learning.

If this sounds like you then we would love to hear from you. Please apply online.

Applications close Wednesday 1 July however we may look to interview suitable applicants before the close of day.
