We are a high performing decile 10 state integrated Anglican school for 450 girls situated in the heart of Dunedin city.  Applicants must be supportive of the school’s Anglican special character.

The deputy principal–community will work alongside the principal and the two other DP’s, DP–pastoral and DP–curriculum, to form a high-performing, cohesive and energetic senior leadership team.

Developing capabilities in staff, and leading and supporting professional development and staff wellbeing are critical to this role. The successful candidate will be an exceptional classroom practitioner who is able to support and guide staff, lead by example and be prepared to trial, fail and learn through inquiry into their own practice.

This role will be committed to working with our wider community, parents and stakeholders, realising the potential of Māori and Pasifika learners, as well as students from all backgrounds. The DP–community will need to have an inclusive, supportive approach that enables successful community engagement

The successful candidate will be able to initiate and lead change, be a team player, have experience in developing school wide initiatives, and an excellent knowledge of future-focused pedagogies. Strengths in strategic planning, organisational systems and school wide processes that are responsive to the identified needs of our learning community will be an advantage. 

All members of staff of schools within New Zealand are required to undergo police vetting. The appointment to this position will be made conditional upon receiving a satisfactory report.
