We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate kaiako to join our team.

About us:

We are part of Central Kids, who operate 56 other kindergartens and centres across the central North Island.

Central Kids provide access to high-quality professional development opportunities and ongoing professional support to maintain quality teaching practice.

We are party to the kindergarten teachers' collective agreement, which provides 6 weeks' annual leave, 9 days' sick leave and ample non-contact/professional time.

Our programme provides an inclusive learning environment allowing opportunities for children to interact with family/whānau, friends, community groups and services.

Each child will have the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning by participating in activities that interest them. They will have the freedom to create and act on their own ideas, develop knowledge and practice new skills.

We hold silver status in the Enviroschools programme and participate in weekly ngahere (bush) visits which provide opportunity for children to explore the wonders of nature, make new discoveries, develop their physical skills, exercise their imagination and connect with papatuanuku, therefore;

We are looking for a teacher with the following attributes:

  • A motivated, enthusiastic teacher, who is able to put current theory into practice
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
  • Able to have robust conversations and work within teams who have a strong emphasis on whakawhanaungatanga as they support each child's social and emotional growth
  • Committed to creating/maintaining strong, positive relationships within the community and outside agencies
  • Able to demonstrate a growth mindset, be open and able to flex with change to enable us to continue providing high-quality early education to all tamariki who attend our services
