Resource teacher of the deaf - Dunedin
van Asch and Kelston Deaf Education Centres are places of educational excellence for deaf and hard of hearing students. We empower and educate our students, making a real and lasting difference. Our teams are creative; utilising technologies to the fullest.
Preference will be given to qualified teachers of the deaf who are able to work with a range of deaf and hard of hearing students across all communication modes and varying learning contexts.
Recent teaching experience and proficiency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) or a willingness to learn NZSL is essential.
We are looking for team players who can influence and embrace ongoing learning. We provide professional development and career pathways for specialist teachers within the deaf education sector.
Applications will be considered from teachers with strong communication skills and preschool or school curriculum knowledge and who are prepared to undertake professional development.
