Our association has been providing early childhood education in South Canterbury for over 75 years and is the largest ECE provider in the region. Our 12 kindergartens are spread throughout the district from Timaru to Twizel. With an experienced Senior Teacher team, South Canterbury Kindergartens is part of a combined initiative that will be providing professional support to the Waimate, Geraldine, Oamaru and Ashburton kindergarten associations from 2020.

Our kindergarten is an integral part of the northern suburb of Timaru and enjoys the loyal support of this local community. It operates 8.30am–2.30pm every week day with up to 30 children aged 4 months to 5 years attending daily. This position is attached to the 2 to 5-year age group. From 2020 our kindergarten will be open for 49 weeks of the year. The kindergarten team is passionate about creating a warm, respectful, nurturing environment for tamariki.

Applicants must

  • Be a fully qualified and registered teacher
  • Have a current first aid certificate.

South Canterbury Kindergartens adheres to the employment conditions as offered in the Kindergarten Teachers, Head Teachers and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2019–2022.
