Part-time 0.3, permanent K1 teacher

Are you looking for a position in a kindergarten that would support you while you are studying to gain an early childhood qualification or you are wanting to get back into the field of early childhood education? Then we have an exciting part-time position available at our kindergarten in Whangarei.

Our kindergarten is part of a network of 22 kindergartens that is run by the Northland Kindergarten Association. Excellent professional learning opportunities are provided, and all kindergartens are fully supported by an association professional practice team and administration team.

We have a teaching team of 5 teachers and a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday. Our kindergarten is part of the Enviroschools in the Early Years network and also runs a weekly nature programme.

NKA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic kaiako to join the teaching team at this kindergarten, Whangarei. The hours of work are from 11.45am–2.15pm each day or 12½ hours per week to enable our teachers to have their lunch breaks. This is a re-advertised position.

Are you:

  • Adaptable in most situations
  • Able to communicate and build relationships with all kindergarten stakeholders
  • Self-motivated?

Do you:

  • Display initiative?
  • Work collaboratively within a team?

Then this position may be for you…

Applicants must hold a New Zealand recognised ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE), current practising certificate and first aid certificate. However, we will consider looking at applicants who are in training, have obtained a Playcentre certificate or have experience in the early childhood sector.
