It is important that our new principal is excited to embrace and maintain our strong and highly valued relationship with our whaanau community. Events like whānau hui, hangi, ki-o-rahi tournament, Matariki and Kapahaka, Regatta, waka koopapa and koroneihana are an important part of who we are. Our local curriculum connecting to Kiingitanga, Rangiriri Pa and Waikato Awa are all significant parts of our school culture.

Our new principal will:

  • Be passionate about seeing children achieve their true potential and will create a school environment that inspires, challenges and supports their educational needs to enable a lifetime of learning
  • Have a sound knowledge of current pedagogy, curriculum and assessment at primary level enabling students to achieve at their best
  • Have a sound knowledge around ILE and be able to compliment and lead the staff to further their professional knowledge
  • Be committed to recognising and promoting opportunities that support teachers in developing up-to-date effective teaching practice
  • Have excellent management skills encompassing sound financial, personnel and property management responsibilities
  • Be an inspiring leader that uses exceptional communication skills to enhance the relationship between the school and its community to establish an inclusive partnership approach
  • Be a highly visible and inclusive leader who is engaged with all parts of the school community
  • Value, inspire and celebrate our vibrant students, motivated staff and dedicated BOT.
