Our Kāhui Ako ki Papakura is establishing a team of 4 learning support coordinators who will collaborate across our 6 schools, bringing to life our evolving vision to develop uniquely Papakura learners who will thrive in an ever-evolving world. The team will work across Edmund Hillary School, Kelvin Road School, Kereru Park Campus, Redhill School, Papakura Intermediate and Papakura High School.
All coordinators will be able to make informed pedagogical decisions, sustain high-trust relationships and be ready to extend beyond the classroom. Sound knowledge of tikanga Māori is a must. Two roles are ideally for speakers of te reo Māori.
Two coordinators will focus specifically on seamless support for learners with needs so they are included, engaged and successful. Experience in teaching learners with specific needs is a must. Such experience might include implementing successful interventions with your own learners (through ALIM, ALLs or a spiral of inquiry), successful implementation of individual education plans or supporting the SENCO in your school. You will be passionate about engaging with diverse learners, teachers and agencies, and be keen to grow alongside SENCOs. These 2 coordinators will collaborate from a base at Redhill School.
Two coordinators will focus specifically on seamless support and transitions for learners from early learning centres into school, between year levels and between schools. Experience in home-school partnership is particularly sought-after. Such experience might include initiatives such as the Mutukaroa project, your own school’s partnership programme, or successful initiatives with your own class’ whānau. You will be passionate about engaging with diverse whānau and be keen to grow alongside school leaders. These 2 coordinators will collaborate from a base at Papakura Intermediate – one position is filled already.
