The OUCA is an association of 5 purpose-built centres on the university campus. We are a community-owned and operated association. We have 2 teachers from Te Maioha taking parental leave from May and June. This will give us 2 parental leave positions, this one for 7 months, starting in June and one for 12 months from May (advertised separately).

Te Maioha is our centre for children U2 and has a maximum of 32 children attending. The centre operates in 2 houses converted into large modern rooms, with a maximum of around 16 children in each. There is one position in each room. The ratio of teachers to children is 1:4 and our community is a diverse, predominantly university community that is very committed to the provision of quality education and care.

We are looking for a qualified and registered ECE teacher whose commitment to high-quality teaching is evident in their practice. We are wanting a team member who is enthusiastic, participates in teaching and learning, has evidence of being an active reflective practitioner, is able to establish respectful and supportive relationships with diverse whānau, children and teachers, has strengths in te reo and tikanga Māori.

We can offer mentoring for registration, extensive collegial and professional support and a fantastic work environment. ECECA terms and conditions.
