The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Early childhood qualification to degree level 
  • Knowledge and understanding of EC education, legislation and regulations 
  • Knowledge and commitment to Tikanga Māori, te reo Māori and Te Ao Māori
  • Understanding of strategic and operational planning: project and risk management 
  • Experience leading people and ensuring effective management of early childhood services 
  • A sound understanding of navigating employment processes  
  • Ability to initiate and lead a variety of projects that lead to diversity of our strategic direction.  

This role includes frequent travel to our services and head office located in Putaruru. 

This role is covered by the Kindergarten Teachers', Head Teachers' and Senior Teachers' Collective Agreement. 

A mobile telephone, laptop and car is provided for work purposes.
