A certified teacher is required who may have skills in a range of the following: English, health and physical education, learning languages, mathematics and statistics, science, social sciences, technology, te reo Māori, the arts.
We have a 0.68 part-time specialist teacher position available in our attached unit for students verified with ORS funding.
Applicants with experience in special needs education, learning support or teachers who have a passion for working in our shared teaching and learning space are encouraged to apply. Learning programmes are fully adapted with a focus on developing skills within all of the NZ Curriculum key competency areas, for each of our learners.
We require a team player with skills and strengths in: developing and implementing sensory programmes; understanding and knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems, classroom management and behaviour management; attending to detail and effective planning to meet identified learning needs, creative arts, music and dance; participation and leadership of community integration and outings; supporting and delivering transition programmes; knowledge and understanding of restorative practices and the ability to implement these; problem solving with a growth mindset, being flexible, leading and directing support staff.
