21 hours per week (5 x morning sessions), term time only.

Qualification requirements: Playcentre Course 4 or above; NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care L4 or above; ECE diploma or degree.

We are looking for a qualified person who is self-motivated and fun loving to join our team. Our centre focuses on working alongside our tamariki and whānau to become community-minded people who are rich in life skills.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A passion for playcentre and its philosophy
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills with both adults and children
  • Supportive of the use of te reo and tikanga Māori
  • Enjoys working with a mixed age range of children from 0–6 years
  • Will enjoy supporting and empowering the parents who attend
  • A background of strong involvement at centre level preferred but not essential.

Our centre hosts SPACE. Afternoon hours may be available if the candidate is also successful in applying for a SPACE facilitation role (appointed by Playcentre Aotearoa and separate to this position).

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. 
Availability to work 5 morning playcentre sessions per week (or less if interested in a jobshare). Our sessions run 9.15am-12.15pm.
