City, town or rural? Beach or mountains? Customise your lifestyle while working at a future-focused Christchurch school.

We are a large, uniquely situated secondary school in North Canterbury in search of a technology teacher with an engineering focus. Working with materials (metal and wood) and practical students in a very hands-on environment is central to this role. Bring your strong rapport building to this broad technology department and become part of a team with a big future.

  • Students with a passion for the trades and working with their hands
  • Modern learning environment and a well-resourced department
  • A team who works hard to ensure collaboration.

The school has recently completed a $15.5 million dollar building project and created flexible learning hubs to empower their 1600 co-ed students to take greater control of their learning outcomes. Student voice, collaboration and creative-thinking are just some of the ideals that make up the foundation of our school.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Have a PGCE in design technology (or similar)
  • Proven experience in working with wood and metal to senior level
  • Industry experience is a bonus but not essential.

Rangiora is a rejuvenated town located in Mid Canterbury, only a 30 minute drive into central Christchurch. The town is on an upward trajectory with new businesses being established frequently. Christchurch city is well-established as a popular place to live but if a quainter, semirural lifestyle is for you – the Canterbury plains are not far away!

Now is the perfect time to relocate to New Zealand; you may be eligible for one of the overseas relocation grants!

This role starts in term 2, 28 April 2020.
