Applicants with experience in special needs education, learning support or teachers who have a passion for working in our shared teaching and learning space are encouraged to apply. Learning programmes are fully adapted with a focus on developing skills within all of the NZ Curriculum key competency areas, for each of our learners.
We require a team player with skills and strengths in:
Developing and implementing sensory programmes
Understanding and knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems
Classroom management and behaviour management
Attending to detail and effective planning to meet identified learning needs
Creative arts, music and dance
Participation and leadership of community integration and outings
Supporting and delivering transition programmes
Knowledge and understanding of restorative practices and the ability to implement these
Problem solving with growth mindset
Leading and directing support staff
Communicating successfully with whānau and supporting agencies.
