We are seeking an outstanding kaiako with their whakapakari tohu, or a strong willingness to work towards it, to work in our kōhanga reo.

We are situated on the grounds of the Murihiku Marae with a beautiful country outlook.

We are offering a chance for the right applicant to take a lead role in our beautiful kōhanga alongside our pēpi and whānau. Full support and handover from our current head kaiako will be provided. We have a strong, successful structure and planning completed by our komiti that reflects the values of our whānau and needs of our tamariki. The successful applicant will uphold our structures and be prepared to develop this further.

Experience in early childhood education and a genuine desire to work with a kaupapa Māori curriculum is a must. Te reo Māori is priority in our setting, we expect applicants to have at least beginning Level 1 te reo Māori with the commitment to upskill.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach and learn through a kaupapa Māori perspective.
