We are Wellington’s leading independent girls’ school, providing a world-class education for girls from Y1–13, a boarding facility onsite and a coeducational preschool. Our students are empowered to live, learn and lead in our holistic environment, which provides ample opportunities in leadership, sport and cultural activities. Although our school is built on the values of Presbyterianism we welcome girls from all religions and backgrounds.
We believe in the importance of girls’ education. Our college is small enough to ensure every girl is appreciated as an individual but sufficiently large enough to offer a full range of subjects, along with a range of sporting and cultural activities.
We are seeking an inspired and passionate teacher to join our mathematics department. The assistant head of learning area maths is an integral role of the school. This role ensures that our students and parents have a consistently effective and positive experience, and the appointee will collaborate with the English learning area and the curriculum and assessment team. Experience teaching IB Diploma mathematics is preferred, along with a strong understanding of the NCEA and NZC.
You must have:
A degree in mathematics or mathematics-related subject
An ability to teach statistics and calculus to a high level
An enthusiasm for learning and high expectations of students
A willingness to build positive relationships and collaborate
A familiarity with technology.
Nice to have but not essential:
Experience with IB programmes.
As an IB World school, we offer small class sizes, an attractive remuneration package, strong professional development and a supportive community. All staff are required to play an active role in the extracurricular life of the school.
This position starts at the beginning of term 1, 2020.
