We have a centre manager position available for a passionate, motivated, qualified ECE teacher in a community-based centre. We are a purpose-built centre with a roll of 40 children. Our early learning centre was established in 1990.

Centre philosophy:

We believe that tamariki learn best when they are nurtured in a warm, responsive, happy, home-like environment that reflects themselves and their whānau. As a teaching team it is our challenge to provoke tamariki to think more deeply, and to have respect and trust in their ability to lead their own learning through play.
…we acknowledge the uniqueness of each child and their whānau, and the vital contribution that each child and their whānau makes to the daily life on this centre.
…In line with our belief in the connectedness of all living things, we strive to embody sustainable practice in ways that support the environment and encourage tamariki to respect, understand and nurture the world we live in.

As an ECE centre manager, you will be responsible for/oversee the full cycle of business operations and ensure the centre provides quality care and education in a child-lead, play-based programme. As a hands-on centre manager you will lead the curriculum, have the ability to empower the team and lead by example. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre and developing relationships with whānau and the wider community.

We can offer:

  • A well-resourced, new purpose-built centre
  • Remuneration will be as per the ECE Consenting Parties Collective Agreement
  • A chance to inspire and motivate the team to achieve success
  • The support of a well-established and experienced Board of Trustees
  • Ongoing professional learning opportunities
  • You will need an ECE teaching qualification, NZ Teaching Council full teacher practising certificate, and a strong knowledge of current best practices and Ministry regulations.
