We are a rural school close to Kerikeri in the beautiful Bay of Islands, Pewhairangi. Our school community are excited at the prospect of a new teacher joining us, someone who shares our passion for inquiry learning, cultural diversity and international mindedness. As a school community we learn within the International Baccalaureate curriculum (IB, Primary Years Programme), a rich and modern framework with a focus on conceptual learning built around an integrated inquiry cycle. We celebrate play in the early years as a pathway for our children to access and pursue their individual strengths and passions. Learning beyond that is then built around the individual with knowledge, skills and attitudes included in a diverse programme of learning and experiences. We empower self-directed learners with an emphasis on authentic action. We are a PB4L school that teaches mindfulness, reflecting our commitment to a whole person approach.
We seek a teacher with an established record of success in senior primary and intermediate, Y5–8. You will bring energy, enthusiasm and an innovative mindset with a work ethic for developing engaging, relevant and action-oriented learning experiences for our children. You will be a collaborator who succeeds in a small team of friendly, professional educators. Previous experience and training in the IB could be an advantage but more importantly, if this sounds like an opportunity that excites your interest, we want to hear from you.
