Teacher - Ruahine Kindergarten Association
Shine bright like a diamond… RKA knows that early childhood teachers are like precious gems: rare and highly valuable, and worthy of being cherished and kept safe and sound. RKA is a bit of a gem too, in terms of early childhood education providers. We are a true not-for-profit organisation with a community-based, child-centred approach.
Somerset Kindergarten currently has a teaching vacancy within an experienced team in an amazing high-energy environment with a 40-place licence.
This kindergarten is one of RKA’s first 'kind heart’s' kindergartens, this is reflected in our philosophy which also encompasses akoranga, aroha and kotahitanga. This may be an ideal opportunity for a newly graduated teacher. You will need to be fully-qualified and registered with a current first aid certificate but support with a PCT journey will be provided for the right applicant.
The preferred person would be:
- Culturally responsive, having a strong bicultural and Pasifika focus
- Passionate about community
- Focused on developing strong relationships
- Inclusive as well as a strong team player
- Open to learning
- Fantastic at embracing and working with nature.
In return we will welcome you as a valued member of our extended whānau while offering generous ongoing professional support; quality continuous professional development that is second to none; 6 weeks plus 1-day annual leave, pay parity with primary teachers; and 12.5 hours of non-contact time per week! Sound like your cup of tea?
