Our School of Curriculum and Pedagogy is seeking a professional teaching fellow to complement its existing group of academic staff to undertake research-informed teaching in English education, media studies and literacies education.

Our new professional teaching fellow will deliver high-quality teacher education and postgraduate courses, and provide expert research supervision and academic guidance to students. The successful applicant will also undertake ongoing professional development in their discipline and curriculum areas in order to maintain awareness of current issues.

The role presents fantastic opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Skills and experience:

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have completed a postgraduate qualification in education (or studying towards)
  • Have current New Zealand teacher registration
  • Be an adaptive expert with a track record in English curriculum and media studies teaching in schools who has demonstrably increased student engagement and success
  • Have a commitment to high-quality teaching, underpinned by a knowledge of blended and innovative teaching practices
  • Be familiar with the New Zealand Curriculum, including the NZC and the NCEA assessment system and standard.
