We are in the heart of our community and have community at heart. Our well-established vision ‘nurturing our neighbourhood’ is about connecting children to the richness our local neighbourhood and all our people have to offer. Licensed for 65 children, we have two spacious rooms where children are engaged and supported on their learning journey.

We are looking for an experienced centre manager who can be at the heart of the centre; inspiring, motivating and supporting our teaching team to reach the desired outcomes for centre success.

Your first few weeks will be spent with one of our experienced centre managers; providing a buddy-system to support a strong induction into your new role. The support will continue with our team of business and professional service managers providing ongoing guidance around the business, staffing, compliance and curriculum aspects of the role.

As a successful centre manager, you will utilise your outstanding leadership skills to be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre. You will take direct accountability for centre performance including the financial and compliance aspects, family/whānau/parent relationships and administrative tasks – with the help of your centre administrator. To role-model quality teaching practice, you will also spend 20—25 hours per week in-ratio alongside your team.

Our successful centre manager will bring:

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration
  • Proven success working in a management or supervision position
  • Ability to promote the centre to the local community
  • Ability to set reasonable targets and celebrate team achievements
  • A strong administration/financial background would be desirable.

Your hard work and commitment will be rewarded with a competitive salary, free healthcare, discounted childcare and much more. Come and experience the BestStart difference – with in-house leadership training, ongoing PLD and plenty of growth opportunities, now is the time to advance your career!
