Opening early 2020, our newly built boutique centre located in Prebbleton, Christchurch is on the hunt for a passionate, qualified head teacher for our preschool room. We are looking for someone who will lead our team in a collaborative manner that will continue to empower our kaiako and tamariki to flourish.

As head teacher, you will take pride in contributing to the professional reputation of the centre and help create a warm, welcoming environment for children and whānau. This role will work closely with the educational manager and will support them in building our team culture within our newly established teaching team. Day-to-day you will be responsible for leading and motivating our preschool team, ensuring the centre’s philosophy and values are reflected in practice.

This position will form an integral part of our leadership team; therefore, we are looking for someone who is genuine and empathetic and will help create an amazing centre. You will bring experience mentoring and will have strong communication skills to be able to engage and build rapport with a diverse range of people. You will be organised, with sound knowledge of curriculum, planning, learning and assessment competencies.

You must be a fully registered ECE teacher, able to pass police vetting checks and hold a current first aid certificate. More than anything you will be passionate about nurturing and willing to become invested in the development of our tamariki in a happy, healthy environment.

If you believe you have the skills listed above and would love to embark on an amazing opportunity, in a family-owned centre then we would love to hear from you!

We will offer:

  • A competitive remuneration package
  • Ongoing support, training and professional development
  • Subsidised childcare (if applicable).
