Shine bright like a diamond...RKA knows that early childhood teachers are like precious gems: rare, highly valuable, worthy of being cherished and kept safe and sound while they provide our communities with an exceptional and highly beneficial service. RKA is a bit of a gem too in terms of ECE providers. We are a true not-for-profit organisation with a community-based, child-centred approach.

Our kindergarten currently has a teaching vacancy within an experienced team with a 40-place licence. Another true gem in the RKA crown, the kindergarten can lay claim to a wonderfully sparkly environment with many amazing facets to explore while you integrate yourself and grow with the team.

This may be an ideal opportunity for a newly graduated teacher. You will need to be fully qualified and registered with a current first aid certificate but support with a PCT journey will be provided for the right applicant.

Amongst the many jewels in your own crown, the preferred person for our kindergarten would be:

  • Passionate about bicultural practice, sustainability and active movement
  • Understanding of diverse ways of learning and how to be responsive
  • A team player with good time management skills
  • Experienced with the Incredible Years programme or have the desire to undertake this training.

In return we will welcome you as a valued member of our extended whānau while offering generous ongoing professional support; quality continuous professional development that is second to none; 6 weeks plus 1 day annual leave; pay parity with primary teachers; and 12½ hours of non-contact time per week!

Sound like your cup of tea? Don’t hesitate, please apply.

How to apply
